The three principals of the company are all senior professional engineers, specializing in various aspects of civil, transportation and municipal engineering.

David J. McWalter, P.Eng., is the President of L&M Engineering, and was a founding member of the firm, which was established in 1985. Mr. McWalter is a senior professional engineer, and is a long term resident of northern British Columbia. He specializes in the project management of large residential, commercial, industrial and institutional development projects, including engineering, planning, financing, infrastructure analysis, and the coordination of multidisciplinary project teams.

Mr. Terry Fjellstrom, P.Eng., is a Principal of the firm with over 18 years of experience, based in Prince George and northern British Columbia. Mr. Fjellstrom specializes in transportation engineering including the preparation of traffic impact studies, highway and intersection design and both residential and commercial land development. He also has considerable experience working with large inter discipline consulting teams for both traditional and design/build projects.

Mr. Darryl Brizan, P.Eng. has been a resident of Prince George since 1973 and is responsible for the design and construction management of a wide variety of civil engineering projects. In recent years, Mr. Brizan has specialized in the design and construction of residential onsite sanitary sewer systems in northern British Columbia. Mr. Brizan is a qualified professional with respect to the design and inspection, and maintenance of type 1, 2, or 3 onsite sewage systems. In addition, Mr. Brizan is experienced the design of onsite, in-ground storm water infiltration systems.

The senior engineers are supported by three associates including:

Heather Oland, MSc, MCIP is the Director of the L&M Planning Department and is a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners. Ms. Oland has accomplished a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria and a Masters of Environmental Science from the University of Northern British Columbia. Ms. Oland has significant project management experience and is particularly proficient in large scale planning projects, including neighbourhood planning and industrial land use strategies. In addition she has considerable experience conducting public policy and socio-economic research and analysis as well as concept and site development planning. Ms. Oland excels in the facilitation of consultation processes, including community presentations, community meetings, public open houses, roundtable discussions, organization of stakeholder participation, presentations to municipal councils as well as media and public relations.

Mr. Jason Boyes, P.Eng., is a graduate of the Bachelor of Applied Science program from the University of British Columbia, as well as a graduate of the Civil Engineering Technology program from the Okanagan University College. Mr. Boyes has a total of 6 years experience in design and construction projects in British Columbia and has been with L&M Engineering since 2003. He has experience in small to large scale subdivision planning, design and construction projects, as well as commercial projects, such as the recent Prince George Airport runway extension.

Mr. Konrad Dunbar, P.Eng., is a design engineer, project engineer and construction manager for a wide variety of Civil Engineering Projects mostly in the Industrial Subdivision sector. Mr. Dunbar specializes in the analysis of storm water run-off and has modeled many of or the catchment areas in and around Prince George as well as many municipalities in the north. Mr. Dunbar was raised in Prince George and returned to the city during summer breaks and upon graduating from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

On May 1st, 2007, Mr. Dunbar became the manager of our Williams Lake branch office. This office is located in downtown Williams Lake and specializes in serving the engineering and planning needs of the Cariboo Region.
